Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
• Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism
• Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols and radiation safety standards
• Manage patient management software to schedule appointments, update medical records, document treatment notes, and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are followed
• Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and ensuring comfort throughout visits while maintaining clear communication using dental terminology
• Support dental equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of tools such as dental instruments, endodontic files, and digital imaging devices
• Uphold infection control standards through proper aseptic technique, sterilization procedures, and adherence to healthcare infection prevention protocols

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting practices
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical documentation and records
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry and oral surgery
• Certification in dental radiography or X-ray proficiency is preferred; ability to take accurate radiographs is essential
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care
• Commitment to infection prevention management and healthcare infection control expertise

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00/hour
