Responsibilities

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective treatment plans.
• Perform comprehensive periodontal charting, oral cancer screenings, and risk assessments to support the dentist during examinations.
• Take medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and image quality while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in electronic medical record (EMR) systems Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment.
• Support pediatric dentistry cases by working with young patients in a gentle, caring manner tailored to pediatrics needs.
• Review documentation for accuracy, update medical coding as necessary, and assist in managing dental records efficiently.

Requirements

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Curve is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance is essential.
• Prior experience in pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus but not mandatory.

• Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures, patient care principles, and medical terminology is required.

• M 630-400pm
• T 630-400pm
• W not scheduled, but option to pick up hours if wanted (630-4pm)
• TH 630-300pm
• Fridays-630-1100am.
