About the role
Overview
Crystal Smile Studio is a new boutique cosmetic and general dentistry practice opening in Huntington Beach, CA. We're looking for a Dental Assistant to join as one of our founding team members.
- Position: Part-time (with a clear path to Full-Time as patient volume increases)
- Tentative Start Date: October 1, 2026 (subject to change)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience
- Expanded Functions (EFDA) certification is a plus
- Passionate about dentistry and genuinely invested in patient care
- Flexible and comfortable adapting as a new practice grows
- Someone looking to grow long-term with the practice, not just fill a seat
- Willingness to help with front desk duties is a plus (pay adjusted accordingly)
- Required Credentials: Active California RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) license preferred; RDAEF (Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions) a plus for expanded duties. Current Radiation Safety Certificate required to operate X-ray equipment. Current CPR/BLS certification required.
Compensation & Benefits
Very competitive, based on experience. Additional pay if front desk responsibilities are included.
About the Company
Crystal Smile Studio combines cosmetic dentistry (veneers, smile design) with comprehensive general and restorative care in a modern, patient-first setting.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Assisting: Four-handed chairside assisting for restorative, cosmetic, and general procedures. Sterilization and instrument processing. Taking and processing digital X-rays and intraoral scans. Setup and breakdown for procedures including crown preps, fillings, and cosmetic cases. Chairside impressions and bite registrations. Inventory and supply management for operatories. EFDA-eligible duties may include placing and finishing restorations, taking final impressions, and coronal polishing, depending on certification and state scope.
- Technology & Software: Comfortable with or willing to learn digital dental technology including intraoral scanning (iTero), digital X-ray sensors, and practice management software. Prior experience with systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental is a plus but not required.
- Schedule: Part-time to start, approximately 2-3 days per week, with hours and specific days to be confirmed. Flexibility to increase to full-time as patient volume grows.
